An introduction to anthropology covering key themes, namely anthro as a discipline; an introduction to ethnographic research; the nature & creation of culture; culture & the environment; culture & forms of society (including the relationship between status positions and social roles); kinship & marriage; religion as culture; the integration of culture; people as a product of culture; sociocultural change and possible reactions.
To include: the ways in which culture is learned, shared & systematized; how culture relates to values and the prioritization of such values; how an understanding of the social structure of a people group will aide in cross-cultural adjustment and Bible translation. A number of practical learning tasks will be incorporated.
