This course consolidates and extends the treatment of grammatical analysis introduced in Morphosyntax 1, with a more in-depth analysis of morphology and the structure of clauses and sentences. Its major focus is on increasing analytical skills, through contact with data from African languages, including the students' own.

The primary goals of the course are to give increasing experience of linguistic structural analysis to enable students to undertake more difficult language field studies.
