Andy Alo is married to Yvette Oziro Adiro. They have a daughter, two sons, and two additional adopted sons. They are from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).  Presently, Andy has completed his PhD in Translation Studies at Africa International University (AIU). He is teaching, as a part-time lecturer, in the same university, and is being trained as a Translation Consultant under Sil Africa Area.

He holds a BA in Education, majoring in French and Latin from Bunia Teacher Training College (in DRC). He has a second degree (MA or Licence) majoring in French obtained in Bukavu Teacher Training College (DRC). After these two degrees, he obtained his MA in Translation at NEGST/AIU (Nairobi). Andy has successfully defended his dissertation and is now Dr. Andy Alo!.
