Clene Nyiramahoro

Clene Nyiramahoro was born and grew up in a remote village in Rwanda.. In 1986 she joined the National University of Rwanda, the first woman from her province to have ever gone to university. In 1992, she graduated from the University with a Bachelor degree in Geography. From 1992 to 1994 she was a secondary school teacher. In 1993 she married Rev. Deogratias Rubera. In 1994 they left Rwanda as a result of the war and settled in Kenya since 1995. In 1996 she went to Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) now AIU where she graduated with a Masters degree in Bible Translation and Literacy in 2000. Since then she has been working as a freelance translator, a Lecturer, a workshop facilitator on peace and conflicts, and currently she works on part-time basis with SIL/I-DELTA as a translator and a trainer. She has six children aged between 17 and 4. She is admitted in the PhD program at AIU and hopes to enroll in September 2011. She is the author of a book Beyond the Tears: A story of God’s faithfulness which was published last year by Integrity Publishers.
