Jacob is a Kenyan married to Mercy Maûkî, together have two children, Timothy, 5 years and Grace, 1 year. He studied for a BA in Linguistics in Kenyatta University and later for a Master of Arts in Translation Studies at Africa International University (Formerly NEGST).
He has been working with Bible Translation and Literacy (EA) (BTL) for about eight years as a linguist and a project leader for the Ilwana language project.
On top of his roles in the Ilwana project, he is currently the linguistics advisor for BTL.
